A recent article in Businessweek covered professional video production and web distribution. While some sites such as Youtube.com are a haven for amateur producers, the advertising dollars follow the professionally produced pieces ($7 versus $60 per 1000 views). The web will still be a great place for budding videomakers to get their start, but only professionally, produced videos — with desirable content — will enjoy longevity and profitability.
